the MSM is back today with a vengeance - scaring the hell out of Americans.
Back from their holiday hiatus and loaded for bear - they pick up where they left off.
It's interesting that it seems like the whole world takes a break for the holidays. And it's equally interesting that now that the holidays are over and the new year began - that the world is up to its old before the holidays antics.
Are we being propagandized or manipulated? You tell me.

(36,418 posts)If you want detail, context, expert analysis, and integrity, that's expensive and probably won't keep the stockholders and advertisers happy. So what we get is Big Macs and Bud Light. We're being sold something essentially fraudulent at the lowest possible cost and business risk. Is that propaganda or manipulation or exploitation or fraud, or all of the above?

(11,833 posts)Not much news or journalism. It's been that way for a long time. Thoreau talked about it long ago. Whitman & Emerson too.
Getting outside, experiencing nature, maybe talking with people with an open heart can be a decent antidote. That and reading history in books.
I think one can sift through and find some good stuff. BBC News, NPR, The Guardian, The New York Times. I'm always interested in what other sources people enjoy for positive news.
