A friend and co-worker of mine was almost beaten up because he looked like a Muslim

A friend and co-worker was stopped by two guys in a parking lot a couple of days ago. They pushed him around. He thought he was being mugged. Nope. They started asking if he was a Muslim and a terrorist. Confused he asked why they thought he was a Muslim. They responded "Because you look like one, mother fucker."

My friend is 100% Italian. He has black hair and for No Shave Movember grew a beard and stauche for charity. He decided to keep the somewhat raspy-looking beard through NYE and then shave on New Year's Day.

We really live in a sick culture where an Italian man (or any man for that matter) grows a beard and is basically attacked because of the way he looks. Sick.

2. Here in Lexington it seems to be women in scarves or hats.

A woman who is in chemo treatment here along with my husband was scared half to death recently by a couple "patriotic Americans" who harassed her because she had her bald head covered with one of those twist tams in the grocery store.



I am friends with a woman in Atlanta who wears the hijab. Her dad is a big shot of some sort in Libya. She's thinking of leaving the US for her safety.
