Happy Everything to you, too, Nadin!

And Pinboy is a hell of a punster. His sense of humor comes from the same place mine comes from. It is dark at times, not in a good way.

Oh these mine has gotten worst.

On edit, not everybody gets it.

Especially among so much talent here.

To tell the truth, I never tried puns until after a few years at DU and being inspired by seeing the work of so many wits here to try my hand.

The secret I discovered (shhh!) is that ANYONE can do it and be good at it. All it takes is a little practice.

Another truth: The more, the merrier. If others don't jump in and post, punsters have no material to play off of. It's not a competition, it's a team effort.

At the same time, having said all that...

You may be a grammaw now, but we still see you as that hot, young, sexy person you were and always are to us.

I shall now tear my place apart to find an adult beverage with which to toast you and your daughter and your granddaughter (like I have to look far, lol!).

And thankyou for your kind words.

and I'd start you a thread on the essence of being toothless over in the lounge (finally got up the nerve to get my teeth yanked last month, too) for you to have pun with, but I'm so miserable and sad that fucking Santa man didn't bring me my two front teeth back, that even I might get pissed off at you (not really, never!).

My man took a pic of me yesterday, full on laughing empty mouth, and if you ever saw that photo, you'd take back all the nice things you've said about how I used to be. Frightful, I tell ya.

Excuse me now while I pull my bottom lip up over my nose.

I lost half my jaw and teeth a long time ago, and more along the way. Two remaining teeth anchored my upper partial--until one of them broke off recently. Now I have to go back to the VA to see what they can do, but I don't have high hopes.

I'm sure you're getting your mouth fixed, as will I when I stop putting it off. I've gotten a bit gun-shy about more surgery.

never dreaming that I'd be forced to diet after the fact. The teeth they gave me don't fit, can't eat with them in, can't even talk without gagging on them, so I had to puree everything I ate while I was down helping out my girl with her new little girl these last few weeks and keep real quiet (a feat unto itself).

It's an unsolvable dilemma, and I think I'm doomed to eat sweet potatoes, yogurt, gruel and mushy stuff for the rest of my days, unless we can come up with the money to remake these damned dentures. It took practically every penny we had just for the surgeon and my dentist keeps telling me that I have to "get used to them" which isn't happening, as I've tried to keep them in for almost two months, now.

See if the VA will spring for replacing your broken tooth with an implant; if my gums weren't so terribly receded, I could have gone that route, with a couple of fake ones to hold in a bridge or partial or whatever they're called, but c'est la vie.

I kept using my old one. Then, while I was visiting Vietnam, an anchor tooth broke.

Vietnamese friends took me to a guy who made me a new partial, very slim and the best I ever had. The guy had a dental chair in his living room. Turned out that during the war he'd been an assistant in an American military dental clinic. After the war he scrounged dental school texts and whatever equipment and materials he could get (thus the dental chair in his living room).

He wanted to charge me 25 bucks. I told him that wouldn't do, and gave him what I considered more reasonable plus something to aid his education and career.

When I go to the VA I'm going to show them the partial this guy made so they might get a clue about that unnecessary bulkiness that people just can't adapt to.

If I were you I'd go back and tell them the teeth they made for you are bullshit and you need some teeth that actualy fit and are usable. Maybe the dentist just has "to get used to" your middle finger.
