I watched a ton of Christmas movies this week and found my eyes clouded with tears mote than once

I know it seems like an old softie thing. But as angry as I get hearing the small mindedness surrounding us sometimes, there is one over lying thing that is constant through all the emotion.. and that is love.
I wish you all the two most important things in the world… not only for Christmas…… but always…

Peace and Love (to quote and old hippy)

A Christmas Carol with Allister Sims, 1951, It's a Wonderful Life, of course, even some stupid thing with Lewis Black about kids stuck in an airport on Christmas Eve. But even that comes down to a lesson in love.
Maybe I'm getting old.

And the Cary Grant and Loretta Young (with David Niven) movie, ''The Bishop's Wife, or maybe that is the title of the remake with Whitney Houston.

... Where they filmed the movie. It was beautiful. They told us the film production made an exact replica of the ballroom, making it four times as large so the cameras could work their magic. Oh, and the gazebo where Lise and Karl (?) meet was added temporarily for the movie!

The Whitney Houston remake is The Preacher's Wife. I am pretty certain the original version is The Bishop's Wife.

that actually make me laugh and bring back a lot of personal memories ...

A Christmas Story - I grew up in the 40s and 50s and there are so many elements of this movie that I experienced from those times. I also loved Darren McGavin in this.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - absolutely zany story with SNL alum Chevy Chase at his finest, albeit with some heartwarming moments

My children - and theirs - still love the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special with Burl Ives, although my youngest grandson's favorite character is the "Bumble."

This year I am most thankful that I am not waking up in the hospital after Xmas Eve surgery (breast cancer), which was the case in 2014.

Peace and love to you!

Seems to be shown often around Christmas. Maybe because of the other Bing Crosby movies...White Christmas and Holiday Inn.

The school is having a Christmas pageant and the children sing Happy Birthday to the baby Jesus.
i think one Christmas scene is usually enough to qualify the movie as something to screen at Christmas time.

White Christmas
A Christmas Story
Blizzard
Miracle on 34th Street with Maureen O'Hara and Natalie Wood

These 2 not strictly Christmas Movies but we watch as well:
Holiday Inn
Home for the Holidays Holly Hunter and a whole bunch of great actors

Our copy of Trapped in Paradise with Nicolas Cage has gone missing.

The underlying theme of all of these is love, family, forgiveness and hope.
