........ because we're reminded every day how essential Democracy Now! is in our pathetic media landscape. Here's a collection of some of my favorite recent clips.

(62,453 posts)There are but a few real journalists left in this land of so called free press. Amy Goodman is the best of the bunch!

(10,497 posts)She is not bought off like the MSM who is complicit in so much!
One example is the Exxon story above, "A Rouge Company." Exxon knew of the affect their product is having on our ecosystem and yet covered it up with lies and disinformation. Amy asked the expert all of the right questions, such as why would Exxon study the climate. Sadly, Exxon chose to cover it up, just like they did for asbestos, which was heavily used in their refining operations as insulation, gaskets, valve packing, fire bricks, boilers, turbines... They and the other oil companies and asbestos companies knew in 1932, from a study done by Metropolitan Life insurance company, and funded by the members of the National Safety Council, that asbestos was deadly.
Do you see a pattern here? These companies can not be trusted to protect our health and environment when it conflicts with their profits. That is why Amy Goodman is so important because very few others will tell the truth!

(18,775 posts)a long time ago. Visceral reaction every time I see or hear her. Entirely personal and I do think she's a very good journalist. But I still can't stand her
