Texas GOP Official Threatens To Slap The Next Person Who Tells Him ‘Happy Holidays’

http://www.towleroad.com/2015/12/texas-gop-official-threatens-slap-next-person-tells-happy-holidays/?utm_content=buffer038e7&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

One bigoted Texas official just took his war against the “war on Christmas” to another level.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, Republican Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller threatened violence against anyone who wishes him “Happy Holidays.”

“If one more person says Happy Holidays to me I just might slap them,” Miller wrote. “Either tell me Merry Christmas or just don’t say anything.”

looks like he needs to slap a few thousand people

Someone ask him why does he want to live in a country where a given religion is not supposed to have any power, at all.

Any acknowledgment beyond in his own home or church?

Ask him why does he hate America?

And merry Christmas on December 25th. I actually start saying merry Christmas to everyone on December 1st. It amazing how happy they all are to say it back so freely like without reservation. It really is a beautiful thing and the best time of the year. To be honest, I wish everyone was so nice all through the year. What a pleasant country we'd have.

Of course my Christmas party was December 12th this year at my home. 73 excited friends and neighbors getting together to just have a good time and forget all the nonsense for a nice evening. My Christmas party is the event of the year for most so I make it special.

I did not say that people had to say that to me on those days.

The local newspaper had a banner headline on the front page on December 25th "Happy Holidays". That is not factually correct as December 25th is Christmas Day.

" That is not factually correct as December..."

It is indeed accurate. Christmas is a subset of Holidays. A reference to either the set or the subset is accurate. I think you're simply confusing accuracy with specificity... regardless of what you want to hear.

Say whatever YOU want on those or any other days! But don't demand others say what "you want to hear"

You do understand those two days really marked a Pagan holiday right? And that much of the traditions at Christmas ARE Pagan to begin with.

If people happen to greet you in the way you "prefer", great ... if they do not ... too bad. Get over it.

I'd prefer that Christians NOT bring up Jesus when talking to me at Christmas, or at any other time of the year. But they feel free to show up on my porch and try to tell me how they can "save me".

If some one says what you want to hear this time of year, great. If not ... too bad, get over it, move on.

Having said that ... I say nothing when we visit my RW relatives. They talk about Jesus a great deal. And if I wanted, I could ask some pretty difficult questions. But I do not.

You are the one who thinks people should talk mainly about your preferred God on certain days around Christmas.

I find that hilarious. Even if we believe Jesus lived, theologians also believe that his birthday was not Dec 24th / 25th, but probably sometime in June or July.
