Donald Trump loses wind farm legal challenge
21 minutes ago
From the section NE Scotland, Orkney & Shetland

Donald Trump's legal challenge to a planned offshore wind farm has been rejected by the UK's Supreme Court.

Developers intend to site the large turbine structures close to Mr Trump's golfing development on the Aberdeenshire coast.

The US businessman and presidential hopeful was taking on the Scottish government, which approved the plan.

The Trump Organisation said it was an "extremely unfortunate" ruling, and it would "continue to fight" the proposal.

but Trump wanted to stop them, because he thought it spoiled the view from his ugly golf course. But this wind farm isn't in Orkney, it's on the north east coast of the mainland, in Aberdeenshire. That BBC regional section is NE Scotland, Orkney & Shetland.

Orkney has the most productive wind farm in the UK, and is a net exporter of electricity - they need to upgrade the cable to the mainland so they can export more: http://www.scotsman.com/news/environment/orkney-wind-turbine-spins-into-record-books-1-3745400

I would just hate to see anything that would disfigure Orkney. It is just so beautiful there.
