... if there's a terrorist attack on this continent, let alone in the mainland USA itself, next September or October, it will seriously distort the general election and probably hand the whitehouse to the Republicans, which is a serious danger to all our healths. and no, it doesn't matter if the terrorists are Islamic immigrants from the middle east. any terrorist from anywhere will do the trick.

i really don't see how we're supposed to get around this. our democracy (at least our engagement with it) is very weak right now.
