I've got it! I figured out what Donald Trump is doing and why. It's simple and brilliant.

He is secretly a Democrat, and trying to make sure he gets the R nomination so he can get trounced. And trying to possibly upset the Senate and Congress R majorities into the Democratic control.

That HAS to be what he's doing!

Incidentally, and for the sake of argument, while I believe HRC is going to be our nominee, I believe Bernie could beat him too. Hell, I think my dog's hairy asshole could beat the trumpster.

You're welcome.

4. I had a similar thought. And after he gets the Republican nomination

he'll start saying more and more outrageous things. Yes, even more outrageous then he's been so far. But he'll go to such an extreme that nobody in their right mind would vote for him, giving the election to whichever Dem runs against him.

He will have punked the entire Republican establishment and a bunch of Republican voters too. Then he'll sit back and laugh about how stupid the American public is to fall for such an obvious trick, and how very much smarter he is than the rest of us. (Frankly, I don't think he really wants the job, even if he's not trying to punk us.)

6. "don't think he really wants the job ..." Rachael Maddow has a similar theory.

She posited recently that trump is deliberately trying to blow-up his frontrunner status.

goes up in the polls. I'll never underestimate him. I think he knows exactly what his brain dead republican voters want to hear and he's giving it to them without the code speech.

He's not going to say 'I quit' but was hoping to say shit so crazy he dropped in the polls and could go out in a blaze of glory. Unfortunately for America, a large number of people believe that garbage..

10. He is following European far-right's "populism" which has been successful lately.

Europe's far-right foundered electorally for decades but has recently been much more successful in the face of economic stagnation and immigration/refugees. Those are the same issues motivating Trump's base.

He got in it for the publicity and planned to drop out after making a few outrageous statements. Instead, the more outrageous he gets, the better he polls. I keep expecting him to break out in "Springtime for Hitler."

14. No, he is a narcissistic arsehole. Why would you think a Democrat would act like this?

What Trump is doing is dangerous; he is riling up all the hate mongers.

they will come out in record numbers to support Trump. Because "they" want "their" (read: white racist) country back.

So in other words, it's an automatic "No freaking way."

What you see is what you get in Trump: a Narcissist incapable of thinking about any person not named Donald Trump.
