http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/12/06/supreme-court-just-gave-some-very-bad-news-to-the-maker-of-those-planned-parenthood-videos/On Friday, the group was denied an emergency appeal by Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who oversees appeals from California, in an attempt to avoid a district court order forcing them to disclose fully a list of their key donors and supporters. (emphasis mine TD)
Since the emergency plea to the high court was almost immediately rejected as it was filed, it looks like the world will soon know who financed those awful videos after all. Its about time no longer will they be able to hide in secret behind a curtain while the group does its dirty work.
The group has been dodging for some time. The National Abortion Federation set everything in proper motion, after alleging in a lawsuit that the centers members were only able to get into Planned Parenthoods meetings by lying about themselves and falsely promising not to reveal the contents of those meetings.
A federal judge agreed and says its now time to cough up. Judge William Orrick isnt one to mince words either, saying in the order: Its time to end this shell game.

(4,211 posts)It'll be a full-on roasting within the fires of public awareness. Any corporate associates will lose a lot of business.
Any individuals will feel the full weight of public outrage.

These guys are trying to justify that they will face some type of 'retribution' for their disclosure.
Granted, they are probably just projecting their own intents for the making of these videos, the creating of fake bank accounts and fictitious names, etc.. You know, all the shit that real terrorist organizations and money laundering fronts do! They deep down inside know that video was to incite violence, and they project that onto the pro-choice camp--because that's how they would act.
Let's try to be civil to abate their reasoning for secrecy.
I'm not saying you should not be angry, or protest, but not to incite harm to them in return.

(2,352 posts)The wheels of Justice move slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine....
Slow but sure moves the might of the gods
Earliest printed version is Sextus Empiricus Against Professors (perhaps specifically Against the Grammarians) I.xiii.287; see The mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small, Oxford Dictionary of Proverbs; The Dictionary of Cliches James Rogers (Wings Books, Originally New York: Facts on File Publications, 1985), quoted by ESC at The Phrase Finder, Re: The Wheels of Justice... (March 19, 2009). Sextus quotes it as an existing Greek adage and gives a Latin form:
ὀ?? ?ɛῷ? ἀ?έ???ί?ύ??ί, ἀ?έ???ί ?? ?ɛ?ṯά,
Est mola tarda dei, verum molit illa minutim
The mills of the gods are late to grind, but they grind small.

(49,212 posts)They used fake ID, they appear to have stolen at least one identity of at least one real person who definitely wasn't a participant, they lied on their state tax forms about the nature of their enterprise, and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. And all of that occurred in the great state of California, where the legality of abortion (hell, we'll give you state funding to have one) is about as controversial as the idea that there are seven days in a week.

(21,046 posts)Fake ID etc. Sounds like California will have fun going after them.
I don't agree with Jerry Brown about everything but I do think he's cool. Especially the way he balanced the budget by raising taxes.
And yes, I'm so old I remember when he was the YOUNGEST governor of California and was dating Linda Ronstadt.
Jerry's been the youngest governor of CA and the oldest governor of CA too. That's quite an accomplishment.
Like when The Who were called "the best rock and roll band in the world, the worst rock and roll band in the world, and the LOUDEST rock and roll band in the world" all at the same time. Multitasking.

and what Carly Fionna said is outrageous. Even a rather progressive friend believed what she said.
