Female Canadian soldier who fought with Kurds against Isis says they are just 'a thorn in the side'

The supposedly fearsome terrorist cell 'runs away' from battle, she said

EXCERPT:

"They're not some giant, holy juggernaut of ultimate damnation for unbelievers," she told Business Insider.

"They’re just a bunch of filthy, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging pigs who run away at the first sign of resistance."

"Really nothing more than a thorn in the side."

---

Ms Bohman said the extremist terrorist cell was working in part for President Erdogan of Turkey, who she said wanted the terrorists to eliminate the Kurdish "threat" to Turkey's national sovereignty.

they will do whatever they get get away with, while cowering when they meet actual resilience (like that of the Kurds). Then they try to find a weaker victim for their "fun and games".

THIS is why violent videos / games which celebrate hyper-masculinity are a problem: the bullies at shool and the bullies in Raqqa are equally influenced by that filth.

EDIT: Am I the only one to be greatly disturbed by what the woman says about Erdogan?

Erdogan. It is no surprise that Turkey would do that. They have had a problem with the PKK for quite sometime. The Kurds have wanted an independent state for a while. Putin has implicated Erdogan in his hidden support of ISIS.

It is the insanity of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

The House of Saud for a analogous reasons gives implicit support to ISIS, because they perceive Iran as a threat

The invasion of Iraq, which created ISIS, was one of the worst foreign policy blunders we made.

This is a discussion about ISIS. Why the video game meme when it really has nothing to do with ISIS?

They have been culturally influenced by Western entertainment: Game of Thrones, rap music, and violent video games.

The same GTA games that sought to garner sympathy for soldiers who callously mow down their opponents, the games that were designed to inspire indifference for "the enemy"? They were not just played by lily-whote mid-western Caucasians. They were played by the same guys that are now callously mowing down their opponents, and who are indifferent to the suffering of their "enemy" (which they say is us).

Those movies and series that portray women as sexual objects, as helpless and childlike creatures, and who show hyper-masculine men being rewarded by female affections after they kill a couple of less masculine guys? They didn't just entertain the college Republicans in Austin. They were watched by the Raqqa bunch.

No-one is impressed by your twisting of other people's arguments. You are only fooling yourself.

Not THE reason(s) for ISIS, but one of the less-discussed contributing factors.

she's a former model. She's never served with the Canadian military.

A former Canadian model that’s also known as Tiger Sun, Bohman, 46, is one of dozens of westerners who have joined up with Kurdish nationalist groups to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. She was personally inspired to fight after watching an ISIS propaganda video featuring a Canadian who had gone to fight with the jihadists, she told the Daily Mail.

After recovering from a near-fatal motorcycle accident last year, Bohman, who had no prior combat experience, left Vancouver for Iraq in March. She joined up with the YPJ, the female fighting battalion of the People’s Protection Unit, a Kurdish nationalist fighting force.

The story seems about as truthy as propaganda but its printing suggests the Independent sees reader interest in narratives that involve the further destabilization of the region.

This narrative looks to be stripping overburdern that has to be removed to get to a future struggle to pull together the Kurdish regions of several nations to make a Kurdish country.

Back to dreams not fulfilled by America's war on Iraq.

Reportedly, there are 30,000 ISIS fighters in the Middle East. Considering the number of soldiers in militaries in all the countries of the Middle East, that's a drop in the bucket. It's a smaller drop in the bucket when you throw in the U.S. and other western militaries. ISIS has made itself the biggest threat in the world because the media covers it 24/7 and politicians on the right love to pimp war. Keep the dumb American voter afraid and they'll vote GOP. They're bad guys. No doubt. But we're making them badder and badder and that's exactly what they want.
