Thought long and hard about this: Time to put the Gun Nuts here at DU on ignore.

I have not one single member on ignore. Always thought it better to engage than ignore.

Not anymore....When I debate a gun nut I feel sick to my stomach. They literally make me sick.

The great thing about DU is we sort out the crap and eliminate it. Climate Warming skeptics...Bye...9/11 LIHOP...Bye...Mysogynist... Bye....Woo...Bye.

We don't say bye to Gun Nuts. Oh well... Admins prerogative.

But the Admins have given us a feature to eliminate them ourselves....the ignore feature.

Some may say...they win...they chased you. Perhaps?

But simply put...I'm tired of their bullshit and I won't miss them.

the country will be talking pass the gun owners.
The conversation will not be should we have gun control but what kind of gun control.

Gun owners will still want the conversation to be about should we have gun control and at that point they make themselves irrelevant

12. Ignore and Trash Thread/Group are the most important tools on DU
Thu Dec 3, 2015, 03:24 PM
Dec 2015

We often seem to talk/complain/obsess about juries, Hosts and MIRT, but those--especially the first two--are blunt instruments in terms of shaping the DU experience. Ignore and Trash are like having your very own personal Host/Jury/MIRT/Admin that follows you everywhere you go and always does exactly what you want, immediately. More people should make use of those tools, IMO...

I only want to talk to people who agree with me. Christ, that's the problem with this country. People aren't willing to engage and discuss and work towards solutions. Do you think that ignoring people who support a right to own firearms (and who vastly outnumber those who want to ban firearms) is the way to accomplish your goals?

not everyone is going to have to same opinion. Then - MOVE ON - and don't get hooked.

Of course it also doesn't hurt to keep an open mind. Personally, the last place I want to be is where I'm convinced that I've got all the (correct) answers. I mean, imagine shutting yourself off from potential "enlightenment"!

Bottom line: I don't put anyone on ignore...
