http://www.newhavenindependent.org/index.php/archives/entry/gov_lambasts_planned_parenthood_attackers/He went to the state headquarters of Planned Parenthood in New Haven (where I worked for several years as a major gifts officer). He met with PP President and CEO, Judy Tabar.
I am so proud to live in this wonderful state and to have worked as a volunteer for Dan Malloy, our governor, for his reelection.
That is all.

Good to read your post, my friend. These things do make a difference.

Still keeping an eye out for your art posts.

(63,912 posts)physical life just now with shingles, I can barely get daily tasks done.
I'm hoping this thing will go away and some morning SOON I'll wake up and I won't have the pain I have now.
But there is a good one I have all planned when I can sit down and organize and write the thing. It's a great painting, now on exhibit at the Gardner in Boston. It is called "The Annunciation with St. Emidius" and you will see what i am talking about if you google it...your thoughts are always, as usual, SO welcome!

(40,416 posts)And shingles have to suck. Unfortunately, I am 67 and had measles. My health is not so good, but not bad. However, I dread shingles. My father had them and he was miserable.
Wishing you the best, my good friend.
If you are in a cold climate, I recommend a hot cup of brandied chocolate. If in a warm one... Well there are all sorts of analgesic muscle relaxation fluids which could work.
I hope you get well soon. (Myself, I would go for the hot brandied chocolate. Chocolate is god.)

(42,770 posts)I know when coming home to see my family is Dem. I live in TX and I miss the north so much you can not even imagine. But, not for political reasons - all Dem in my eyes...miss the sarcasm. TX has zero sarcasm.

I love Dannel. He is far too much hated, tho. However, we have our own set of haters that want to despise him right here in New Haven

(67,782 posts)....who, despite daily assaults on his administration, has really turned this state around. He cares about the citizens of Connecticut, ALL of them.
I worked very hard myself to get him elected the first time (I estimate roughly 5,000 phone calls!) - it took a few days after election day, but it was a great day when the official announcement came that he'd been elected.
A great governor!
As a footnote, we now have the bluest of all 50 states! Democratic Governor and Lieutenant Governor, all Democratic state-wide office holders, our five members of Congress and both Senators are all Democrats. And the mayors of all four of our major cities are Democrats.
