Eugene Robinson accidentally tells the truth on Morning Scar...

This Republican "woe is us" theme about Trump's unstoppable rise is pretty ironic. The entire party has created the very atmosphere in which Trump thrives.

They created and encouraged the anger, resentment and frustration that Trump so adroitly channels.

GOP power brokers say "our voters have lost their minds".

No, you drove them crazy.

It's no accident that Eugene Robinson tells it like it is, he's always seemed to be very insightful and honest.

It's good to hear the truth being told about our goper friends and media. There has been so much hate spewing, from rush limbaugh to the faux news idiots like bill o'liely, that the people who bought into it were bound to blindly follow whichever candidate was the craziest.

The far right and the Tea Party have been telling Republican voters:

Don't trust career politicians! Don't trust the government! They're all insiders! They're all establishment!

And now, Trump shows up. He's not a career politician, and he's not a political insider (except he is, with his influence peddling), and the super right-wing are eating him up. The Tea Party and the Republican rank-and-file are now saying:

How could this have possibly happened?

Idiots. They primed the situation, made the environment perfect for a caricature like Trump to show up, and now they're shocked! Shocked I tell you! that he's still holding on to that popularity. No one to blame for this one but the Tea Party and their anti-government rhetoric for years. Also, the old chestnut that the government should be run like a business, and "everyone knows" that Trump is a "very successful" businessman! Except of course, that he's a better self-promoter than he is a businessman.

There's no way this ends well.

Though at the rate that the far right is alienating voters, it's looking more and more like whoever the Democratic candidate will be is going to have an easier time of it.

Their aim was for the Koch Bros and their ilk to get inexperienced pawns elected who would do their bidding. The establishment while sympathetic were too independent, too expensive and not not allegiant enough. They thought no one could end run their money, but the hatred and fear they stoked are powerful emotions not easily controlled and able to be co-opted. Miscalculation.

Every time I hear one of the other Republican Presidential candidates like Jeb Bush claim they are outraged by something Donald Trump said I think, but he is just pushing the party line. For years Republican have been saying the same things that Donald Trump is now saying. It is a little crazy to see Republicans claiming to be shocked and scared by the things Donald Trump says.

But as a consequence of driving all the sane Republicans out, they have created a Democratic party which has a large percentage of Republicans. This is the result of a two-party system.
