The GOP Must Want To End The Planet & Cause End Times.

What are we to do with a party that will obviously do all it can to make we are cooked. They show no sign of relenting on every effort to sabotage ANY attempt to deal with global warming which is the correct term for what is going on. Global warming was addressed in the 1950's or mentioned on the Bell Telephone Science Hour when Dr. Frank Baxter stated that we were adding carbon to the atmosphere.

So we have ignored our impact on the planet all that time and the carbon increase was noted even before then. So now that we have clear and definite science telling us something is wrong. And when we are seeing before out eyes that weather changes are happening we have a political party that is determined to sabotage efforts even internationally.

And we are facing a time when we have to attack and ridicule these deniers in public. And we are going to have to find a way to force them off the public stage. What will they do when there is absolute certainty and imminent obvious threat. For all we know we may already be way too late.

And the Bell Telephone Science Hour. It was a must see in my household.

Most fondly, there was "Hemo, the Magnificent". And it was about blood, fucking blood.

Alongside Baxter was always Richard Carlson, an actor featured in possibly all too many 50's SciFi adventures, including "It Came from Outer Space" (they always do), and "The Magnetic Monster" among others not so notable.

Thank you for the reminder.

How can you expect a party who's members largely believe that the earth is only 6 thousand years old to respond? Having grown up in the evangelical world I can assure you they will do anything to hasten the "end times". It is a cornerstone of everything they believe. Science is viewed suspiciously as being against God so they won't stand up for the planet. Similarly, if climate change does affect the world in very meaningful ways as projected, this serves as a fulfillment of prophecy to them. If the end is coming, so be it, because Jesus will save them for the tumult

There are powerful people who believe the 2nd coming is near and feel obligated to help it happen according to biblical "prophesy."

It absolutely informs their policy on the middle east and environmentalism.

The tenth-percenters who pull the strings, however, view them as useful idiots who will help them reach their goal of enslaving the world under the yoke of pirate capitalism.
