Alabama Justice Project: Dothan Whistleblower Cops Reveal Decades Of Planting Guns & Drugs on Blacks

Here is the link to the SPLC and AJP report -- but the server keeps timing out on me.

http://henrycountyreport.com/blog/2015/12/01/leaked-documents-reveal-dothan-police-department-planted-drugs-on-young-black-men-for-years-district-attorney-doug-valeska-complicit/

I got the story from Occupy Democrats:

http://www.occupydemocrats.com/explosive-whistleblower-cops-reveal-decades-of-planting-guns-drugs-on-innocent-blacks/

In case there was any doubts left about the rampant racism that infects our police forces, a shocking new report from the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Alabama Justice Project has found that law officers in Dothan, Alabama, have been planting drugs and weapons on black suspects for years – and hundreds are still in prison on false charges. The explosive evidence has been brought forward by other police officers, who believe that “the public has a right to know that the Dothan Police Department, and District Attorney Doug Valeska, targeted young black men by planting drugs and weapons on them over a decade. Most of the young men were prosecuted, many sentenced to prison, and some are still in prison. Many of the officers involved were subsequently promoted and are in leadership positions in law enforcement. They hope the mood of the country is one that demands action and that the US Department of Justice will intervene.”

The whistle-blowing officers have even said they are willing to testify against their corrupt comrades, who were apparently members of a neo-Confederate organization that called “for blacks to return to Africa, published that the civil rights movement is really a Jewish conspiracy, and that blacks have lower IQ’s.” The leaked files also reveal that an Internal Affairs investigation into the matter was silenced by the Attorney General’s office: “all were aware of the investigation and its outcome. All have been rewarded with careers in law enforcement by those for whom they covered, while those who spoke out were forced out of the department. Disturbingly, Ott and Parrish have both attended the FBI academy. Both were highly recommended by the district attorney and former Police Chief, John White.”

(Note: that is 2 out of only 3 paragraphs of entire story on Occupy Democrats, those two paragraphs, if not okay to post that much, just let me know. Also, did a search, but if this is a duplicate, just let me know.)

as observed cynically with NYPD, LAPD, Denver, Chicago, etc etc etc.

At five years ago, any white people pretending these things were isolated cases were naive and ridiculous - at this point in history, pretending means they have an agenda.

You're correct -- whistleblowing seems to the key to actually documenting the racism, the railroading, etc. We need some of these "good cops" we always hear about to lay it on the line (or past the thin blue line, as it were). I would think DOJ could lead on the whistleblowing process, but as a white person, I join the discussion about what is to be done cautiously, not wanting to come off as - or BE - a smug liberal ally. There are some pretty comprehensive lists and platforms out there on how to reform our police forces and whole justice system out there from everyone from writers to BLM to ACLU to candidates etc, but without a groundswell of people standing up, or without leadership at all levels, especially DOJ, making extremely bold changes, we are stuck in this place...waiting... for something.

Sadly, the only way it will become so is when whites are also mistreated and that day will come, eventually.

That whole, "First they came for the Socialists and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist", sort of a dawning understanding where they say, "oh I see now -- they will get around to hurting me or killing me eventually." Yeah, this timeline of "eventually" is totally unacceptable.

24. Dothan Eagle: 'Chief Steve Parrish addresses accusations of public corruption by local blogger'

Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish released a statement on Wednesday regarding the recent allegations from a local blogger of public corruption by the leadership of the Dothan Police Department and 20th Judicial Circuit.

Parrish held a press briefing Wednesday afternoon during which he publicly addressed what he referred to as “misinformation” spread by a local internet blogger. Parrish said the internet post made by Jon Carroll on the Henry County Report website was filled with “outright lies.”

“In today’s social media driven society, many individuals take what they read on the internet as factual. While I am not in the habit of responding to misinformation published online by bloggers, accusations made concerning the credibility of the men and women of this agency shall not go unanswered,” Parrish said in the prepared statement he read aloud. “There are simply too many outright lies and fabrications in the blog to address individually, but his “opinion” has apparently been taken by many as “fact.””

... Parrish also addressed a photo of himself standing behind a confederate flag with a group of other law enforcement officers, including former Sheriff Andy Hughes and current police Capt. Carolton “Bubba” Ott.

BLM had blocked some road in Denver, and she was carrying on about it being all good EXCEPT when it impacts her life and ability to get to work, blah blah insert snide white privilege here -- and she who works for -- guess? the police as 911 operator.

I wrote to her that if it had been MY son with a crushed windpipe, I can't imagine there would have been one single brick on top of another brick after I was done tearing it all down.

The protesters have amazing grace and control is all I can say.

The country has a rotten core that white people don't know about or won't admit and that black people can't clean out by themselves.

And reparations.

I fear that it will contribute to the stereotype that the South is especially racist, then this exact scenario could occur in just about every state in the union.

All involved parties should lose all assets and be jailed for the rest of their lives.

I know I will now be reminded that this goes on everywhere, but my chances are much better of avoiding crooked cops in the north.
