Senate Republicans are sticking with their plans to use a budget procedure this week to repeal major portions of the Affordable Care Act, with a provision to defund Planned Parenthood, site of a deadly attack in Colorado on Friday.
The procedure, known as budget reconciliation, would allow the Senate to pass the measure with just 51 votes, rather than the 60 it usually takes to break a filibuster, making it easy for Republicans to put legislation on President Obamas desk, although hes expected to veto it. The Planned Parenthood provision was added to the Obamacare repeal measure earlier this year in response to the videos showing executives from the organization discussing the sale of fetal tissue, although Planned Parenthood has said it did nothing illegal.

(11,804 posts)I believe they will; I don't know if Republicans are going to want a fight on this issue at this time. Politically they have to make the attempt (to appease their base) but there's no way this fight makes them look good just now.

(23,928 posts)If so, do you believe that defunding PP will be giving them exactly what they want (aka appeasing them)?
I don't find the phrase particularly hyperbolic in this instance.

(38,437 posts)Are you really going to argue against my point with that?
Sweet jesus, this place is in decay.

cute.
I'm fairly confident that most DUers would disagree with your apparent contention that the clinic attackers are not terrorists, but what the fuck, maybe you can hit them with another poster.

Talk about decay, you literally make no argument.
