RESTAURANT MANAGER SAYS CHICAGO POLICE TAMPERED WITH VIDEO OF LAQUAN MCDONALDS MURDER
There are more videos of Laquan McDonalds murder than just the police dashcam video that Chicago just released.
A nearby Burger King also had surveillance video, which the FBI seized, but the restaurants manager is saying there are 86 minutes of footage missing. Unsurprisingly, the missing footage is during the time that Officer Jason Van Dyke shot Laquan McDonald to death and beyond.
The manager, Jay Darshane, testified that the footage was missing before a grand jury. CPD apparently entered the restaurant following the shooting, asked to see the video footage, and when they left two hours later, there were 86 minutes missing from the tape. Darshane told the Chicago Tribune:
I was just trying to help the police with their investigation. I didnt know they were going to delete it.

(14,104 posts)Destruction of evidence? Accessory after the fact? Conspiracy? Lots of juicy charges to file if anybody in the DA's office gave a shit.

(55,745 posts)A lawyer I heard speak said Burger King had another video camera recording the inside of the restaurant. It showed five or six cops in blue shirts coming in and working the tape machine and erasing the outside video. They forgot to look for any other cameras.
Anyone else hear that? I can't find corroboration online.

Perhaps that tape shows exactly who went into the office and edited. I hope a lot of people learn just what kind of "authorities" are making life and death decisions in our "democracy."

(55,745 posts)Which is some coincidence, seeing how at that exact time the video from the BK went bad.
Maybe it was some kind of freak phenomenon, like blue lightning.
I hope the FBI is not corrupt.

(82,849 posts)Following the example of Jose Rodriguez of the CIA, the Chicago PD obviously made the calculation that they'd rather face the penalty for destroying evidence than the penalty for what the evidence showed.
Anyone know what happened to Jose Rodriguez for destroying 92 tapes of CIA torture?

(65,616 posts)Also we cannot depend on police unions to shore in their people nor does the local DA in these areas. That makes it real hard to go after crooked cops imo.

(65,616 posts)to investigate as a mandatory action. I bet it might curb some of this horrible violence by local PDs. We kind of need a reason to have the DHS imo...this would be a great cause to keep the agency busy.
