Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI added three items to my Amazon.com cart earlier today and let them sit.
Tonight, all three have 'increased' in price.
I looked elsewhere for the three items. Found them from 20% to 50% cheaper plus free shipping.
Amazon.com is a scam.

(39,343 posts)You should've jumped while the price was low. I always watch the number remaining for the items I've put on my wish lists.
But I know it's trendy to rip on Amazon, so that's cool too.

(51,122 posts)I have had the same items in the cart elsewhere and the prices have not changed at all over several hours.
Amazon is the Walmart of the Internet.

(2,120 posts)Delete them from you browser and never go there again. Use only local mom and pop brick and mortar stores and only buy American made products. It will make you feel better. (And it will make me feel better also, as you will be freeing up bandwidth on Amazon's servers.)

It sucks, but that's the way the world works these days.
I usually buy only food until after the first of the year.

(2,337 posts)That's not a scam. Their prices go up an down based on current stocks.
The only reason you even know for sure the price changed is that amazon themselves tells you with red writing that the price of an item in your cart has changed, if it even has. Hardly a smart "Scam", you would think. In many cases the price comes down before I can even check out. Guess what? they tell you when it does that too.
