Beware media facts and assumptions while incidents in progress

Media will report things to keep viewers tuned in. Rumors multiply. Inaccuracies are reported as fact.

The PP shooting is still happening and please beware of believing pretty much anything at this point or making assumptions as the situation is fluid. Eventuality the facts wiki come out. Patience, please.

Thank you.

I'd only agree to a system like this for tactical situations. Otherwise, all of their everyday chitchat is public info.

and the media is giving you facts, and asking people who know how in general, one of these operations is run.

Now I have seen in the last 10 minutes MORE speculation here as to who is doing what, or why HERE than on MSNBC.

Myself I got a news story to write... this broke as we were chasing kids half our age, during the San Diego Black Lives Matter march...

My only thing, first gut reaction, was when we had the active shooter here recently, that CLOSED the airport mind you, not wall to wall coverage. Then it made sense. Once I knew the hard facts of casualties.

DU though is the last place I check for breaking news any more.

A jump like that is actually kind of ________ (fill in with words that might be the truth but might also bring down the wrath of DU juries).

Thanks for posting your caution about rumors, inaccuracies, assumptions, and patience.
