Before "just putting he turkey in the oven",
stick you hand inside and remove the package of giblets, and anything else that doesn't belong inside a turkey headed for the oven.

I have eaten some superb Turkey that will melt in your mouth... a delicacy.
I wouldn't really trust someone who doesn't believe that Turkey can taste good
to cook MY turkey.
