One created Osama and his ilk, the other sheltered them. Some allies do more harm than good. Turkey is one of them.

For better or worse, Turkey is a member of NATO, thus officially an ally.

Article 5 of the NATO agreement:
Article 5

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security .

I'm not sure why you think Turkey stabbed us in the back.
Radar shows that the Russian jet was clearly over Turkish borders (though only briefly).
The jet was warned ten times, then taken down. So how are the Turks stabbing us in the back?
I don't approve of any of this, but that's exactly what most countries, including the US would do
in that circumstance.

It has a far more intimate understanding of the region and has to respond more quickly to threats. It's is looking out for it's own national survival, not seeking to bulwark western civilization.
Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel are all fighting to stay sovereign amid a century of the forced intrusion of western civilization (the break up of the Ottoman Empire). Every one of the came into being in the last century. And every one of them has been subject to repeated manipulations by powers from the west.
Why would you be supportive of people who regularly come in and trash your neighborhood, pit everybody against each other, and insist you sell them your stuff cheap so they can become rich?

They have zero shot of entering the EU now.

They are clearly in support of ISIS.

United States should distance themselves from a Turkey that is two faced and a back stabber.
