So the State Department is back to issuing vague be afraid warnings ending at a seemingly arbitrary

date - February, 24. So I guess we're back to threat level elevated (orange if I remember my scared levels correctly). I find this to be complete horseshit. Either get specific or shut up. This be afraid of some unknown chatterers, but not too afraid through sometime early next year for some reason is the pits.

these warnings making them a permanent condition of our existence. Every day we were reminded that we were at one of the following, never dropping below blue I think.

and seeing pallets of the stuff and wondering WTF. With John Ashcroft the alerts changed more frequently than a set of stop lights.

I guess I can't blame doing CYA now. Hopefully the alerts won't look like a rock light show, but it seems they did away with all the color schemes.
