Fear and anger are natural reactions to terror attacks in Paris, Beirut and Bamako. But ours is a nation founded on the principle of free exercise of religion. So outbursts at home against innocent Americans who practice Islam are disappointing. The defacement of the Islamic Center of Omaha with a Parisian symbol of anti-terror defiance is an example of the need for all of us to live up to the Midlands’ hard-earned reputation as a place for people of all faiths and nationalities.
