SciFi: The Day the Earth Stood Still, Star Trek: The Motion Picture (see the director's cut before judging it) forget the remake of TDTESS.

The best ghost film ever: The Haunting, from Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House, both a psychodrama. Forget the remake, as usual.

Not a big fan of WSS, or of musicals, but the Bernstein score really brings this film to the forefront. And Wise delivers here, too.

Here is Bernstein conducting "Symphonic Dances from West Side Story" which made this film so great.
