I am finally going to sign up for the ACA, can anyone point me to the best plan?

I am wondering on opinions for the best plan?

I am in Alaska if anyone knows specifics on that.

I know it is no longer 'open enrollment'....what exactly is closed enrollment?

The most popular are the Silver plans

Open enrollment goes through January.

Sign up by Dec 15 to make sure you are covered for 2016, but ideally I would do it a couple of weeks earlier than that.

As well as the deductible and the copay it is very important to check the networks (try to pick a plan with a network that includes doctors and hospitals that you use) and the prescription drug formulary (to check that medications you use are covered by the plan).
