I've left them to it for a bit, what with RL things to sort. I think they're doing OK.

The Others are strutting, of course, and enjoying themselves immensely. They remind me of myself when I used to think pissing heterosexuals off was a good way of getting them to accept my sexual orientation. Watching them peacocking around and daring others to speak ill of them is actually making me strangely nostalgic and wistful in memory of those times... Ahhhhh, I'm turning into an old queen.

Anyway, I was astoundingly rude there recently to the extent that I actually shocked myself and thought: "hmf. I don't HAVE to do this..." and went off to Discussionist to have conversations with conservatives who do peculiarly human things like stick to the subject and take an interest in what you say and concede points. It's a bit surreal...

I'm in the middle of a chat with a guy there who thinks gay people are gay because of parental abuse or doting mothers. He's trying very hard to be polite. It's rather sweet... I'm stuck because I can't think of a similarly polite way of telling him he's making it up even though he's convinced he knows that these things are causes even though he also acknowledges he hasn't the faintest idea how erotic energy might be mapped according to such processes. And I really, really want to be polite to him!!!

It's so much more difficult when you have to explain things. Much easier to just megaphone and stamp and make noise. So much more rewarding in the short term and so unsatisfying in the long term.

Overall the jury system more often than not lets things stand. Of the posts I have had hidden, I only take issue with one. I say take issue but I never actually brought it up here. I simply don't see an issue and just about every hide I have seen has been worthy of that hide. When a post claiming POC are suffering from Stockholm for supporting a progressive stands, the problem isn't with too many posts being hidden.
