For a minute there, I had a vision of dozens of Syrians running for their lives down Pennsylvania Avenue.

3. My last nerve is on edge about "the refugee problem" meme ...

..... "they" had to get their war on in Iraq which created ISIS and now because
we have a dirty media and lying republicans the story has morphed into "the threat
we have deal w/because of the Syrian refugees" who are fleeing ISIS.

5. How long to vet 10,000 if..

The number of Syrians the Department of Homeland Security has interviewed since FY 2011.

4 years for 7,000 to get interviewed (screened the proper way I assume). The desire is to bring in 10,000 in one year.

I hope resources / manpower can be allocated to handle the overload. The other option is to fast track some and skip some of the lengthy waiting period. I don't think the later would be a popular move.

.... the story was ISIS blew up a Russian passenger jet and sponsored a brutal attack on
unarmed people in Paris but now it is but "what about the threat from the Syrian refugees?"
