Confirmed: Repubs are being shielded from the "3 year old orphan" reference

We all got the reference, Chris Christie says that "even orphans under 5 years old" shouldn't be be allowed in to the US as refugees then President Obama mocked him for it.

Right wing radio (Rush and our local stooge) did the "What is he talking about?!" bit.

At work on break an older guy (African-American actually) starts in on me about the refugees. We have good discussions usually.

"...and what's with Obama saying Republicans are scared of orphans and old people?"
Me: "he's just using their own words against them"
"No one said that"
Me: "Christie said it"
"He did?"

They truly are in their own bubble.
