And not relying on R v W to save them. And it starts at the local and state level.

The younger generation of women seem completely uninterested in preserving their right to control their bodies. That's my opinion, of course, but it is borne out by the number of young women that I have contact with as friends, coworkers, etc.

I would LOVE to be wrong about that!

Not knowing what that symbol was, that was the first thought that came into my head as well (I thought it was a reference to that movie for some reason). Then I saw some of the responses and realized I'm missing something important in the reference, and looked it up:

It's a symbol of not going back to the days where women had to seek horrendous and highly dangerous methods (like using a coat hanger) to either self, or friend assist abort a fetus.

I was explaining to some young college students recently how the coat hanger symbol related to the abortion issue. What surprised me more than them not knowing the reference, was that they weren't aware of wire hangers!

Seems all of the hangers you see today are plastic, molded hangers. Wire hangers are becoming rare.

How old am I? Old. That's how!

one thing is clear: a woman sought emergency medical care because she was hemorrhaging and instead got a criminal investigation and homicide charges filed against her

As many as 240,000 18- to 49-year-old women in Texas have attempted at-home abortions, according to survey data released this week from the Texas Policy Evaluation Project…. 100,000 to 240,000 women in the state—had either tried it themselves or knew a friend who had. Many used the drug Misoprostol; others used herbs, hormonal pills, or illicit drugs or alcohol; a few settled for being punched or hit in the abdomen.

but more so sad and frustrated because it is again a fight and I don't see women fighting diligently enough... I am old enough to have seen the women suffer (and die) before Roe V Wade... I was fortunate to have a working knowledge of herbs years ago when I needed to end a pregnancy, but today, just like Purvi Patel, I could be in prison for what I did... I am so full of sadness for what we are reverting to
