8 Syrians Taken into Custody at Texas Border (after they presented themselves)

...and my dumbass Governor makes it sound like 1. he is solely responsible and 2. they were found and arrested

Despite other media reports that the Syrians were "caught" or were "arrested trying to gain entry into the United States," DHS said in a release that the families "presented themselves at a port of entry in Laredo" and "were taken into custody." They were two men, two women and four children, DHS said. They were not trying to sneak into the country.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who recently said he would not permit Syrian refugees in Texas, tweeted the news Wednesday night, writing "THIS is why Texas is vigilant about Syrian refugees."

I got sick seeing the look on the one boy's face as they led them away. ScreamingMeemie Nov 2015 #4

One part of the story (under the gallery) claims they are. Another part says their status is unknown. I am almost guessing they have visas.

"had"... in places like they ended up, things like evidence have a way of disappearing before too many know about it. Visas could have been confiscated and dispensed with before anyone of authority might have seen them or been aware of them. Happens. All my past dealings with uniformed personnel in that part of the country were sketchy at best and most often I was singled out because of my appearance.
