"We have welcomed refugees -- the tired, huddled masses -- for centuries. Thats been the history of the United States," he (Cruz) told Fox News in a video featured on Cruz's website. "We should continue to do so." He (Cruz) added: "We have to continue to be vigilant to make sure those coming are not affiliated with the terrorists, but we can do that."
And now, with his campaign going, flip-flop:
"It is nothing less than lunacy, Cruz said on Saturday, citing security concerns. "It makes no sense whatsoever for us to be bringing in refugees who our intelligence cannot determine if they are terrorists here to kill us or not. Those who are fleeing persecution should be resettled in the Middle East in majority Muslim countries."
I've never liked Cruz. There's something up with him.

(7,754 posts)7 Kings will arise to take dominion over the earth and prepare the way. Cruz is one of the "Kings". He's the "King" of Government. Do some reading on these people. They are very scary. Go listen to some of his father's speeches in which he ordains his son as the "King" of government. They are on YouTube.
There is something up with him and it's so bizarre it's almost unfathomable.

(10,126 posts)Never heard of 7 Mountains Dominionism
First glance, it reminded of what the Mormons were trying to do with Romney. Obviously, there are major differences.
I'm not a doctor but Ted strikes me as someone with mental issues. He shouldn't be anywhere the levels of power of a government with military capability. I don't think he could resist the urge to use it and would get off on it.

(7,754 posts)The concept that Christians are biblically mandated to occupy all secular institutions has become the central unifying ideology for the Christian Right. The core theme of dominion theology is that the bible mandates Christians to takeover and occupy secular institutions.
Hard Dominionists want the United States to be a Christian theocracy. For them the Constitution and Bill of Rights are merely addendums to Old Testament Biblical law. They claim that Christian men with specific theological beliefs are ordained by God to run society. Christians and others who do not accept their theological beliefs would be second-class citizens. This sector includes Christian Reconstructionists, but it has a growing number of adherents in the leadership of the Christian Right.
Seven Mountains: Seven Mountains is a Dominionist theology that carries with it the ultimate goal of creating God's kingdom on Earth so as to create the conditions needed to bring about Christ's return.
The 7 Mountains that must be infiltrated and occupied are: (1) the home, (2) the church, (3) civil government / law / military, (4) business / technology, (5) education, (6) media, and finally (7) arts / entertainment / professional sports. Each mountain is headed by a "King".
Dominionist believe that it only takes 8% of the population to support their goals in order for them to take over all 7 mountains. By starting at the bottom of all of the mountains and infiltrating and occupying the lower levels, they can make the basic changes that must be made in order to attain ultimate control of all facets of American life.
Ted Cruz's father is a Dominionist preacher that has declared that his son is one of the 7 "kings". He is the "king" of civil government/law/military.

(24,764 posts)Both terrorist organziations are made up of common punks with twisted ideologies that try to pass for religions. ISIL wants a worldwide Islamist theocratic dictatorship; Dominionists want a worldwide Christianist theocratic dictatorship; both want to subjugate minorities either by taxing them heavily or by force.
We just need to come up with a name that Dominionists hate to describe them. I prefer to peg them as the Satanic Temple.

They were all born and raised in Belgium and France, and were of North African origins.
With the stridency that the USA uses at its borders and entries, there is little chance of a jihadi making it through. It's possible, but it's not likely.
If they are already here, the US intelligence knows precisely who they are, especially in light of recent events.
On top of that, if anyone is fearing another 9/11 type of event, it's not likely that people in the US government are cooperating this time around. I could be wrong, but it's not likely.
Just keep an eye on rove.
