A 4.7 magnitude earthquake occurred near Cherokee, Oklahoma at 1:42am Thursday morning however it was felt as far north as northeast Kansas.

Several viewers have commented on facebook that they felt it including areas as far north as St. Joseph. The National Weather Service radar in Dodge City picked up on birds taking off when they felt the earthquake.
