Jeb Bush: Circling the drain

Jeb Bush Says US Should Allow Syrian Refugees Who Can Prove They're Christian, November 17, 2015

“At a minimum we ought to be bringing in people that have -- orphans or people that clearly aren’t going to be terrorists.
Or Christians,” Bush said during a campaign stop South Carolina. “There are no Christian terrorists in the Middle East, they’re persecuted.”

When pressed by ABC News on how he would determine who is a Christian he said, “I mean you can prove you’re a Christian.” adding, "I think you can prove it, if you can’t prove it, you are on the side of caution.”

That's not very Christian of you, Jeb Bush to turn your back on thousands of others who are not 'like' you.

Jeb Bush Brings a Crab to a Frog Metaphor, November 18, 2015

... in response to a voter question here on Tuesday about the proposal by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a Democratic candidate for president, to provide free tuition at public colleges and universities.

“This is a great question, I’m glad you brought it up,” Mr. Bush began. “Because this notion that earned success in life, that the government can just take care of us, if we keep taking steps down that path, we’re in danger. And it’s insidious, because you don’t see it until it’s over. That’s the problem with this.”

Then, Mr. Bush went for the frog metaphor. And that’s where the problem for him began.

“It’s like the crabs in the, you know, whatever —the crabs in the boiling water,” Mr. Bush tried.

“Frogs,” an audience member shouted out, helpfully.

“The frogs,” Mr. Bush continued. “You think it’s warm, and it feels pretty good and then it feels like you’re in a whirlpool—you know, a Jacuzzi or something.”

He concluded with a morbid twist: “And then you’re dead. That’s how this works.”

Jeb Bush calls for U.S. ground forces to fight Islamic State, November 18, 2015

He called for doubling the U.S. Marine Corps' battle-ready strength to 186,000, and updating the U.S. nuclear weapons capacity.

He also called for increasing production of next-generation stealth bombers. Such aircraft, such as the F-35 joint strike fighter, carry a price tag of roughly $150 million apiece. Bush did not specifically propose a way to pay for the buildup.

.....

While Bush projected himself as a potential wartime commander in South Carolina, he also appeared on Tuesday to be anticipating criticism that he would wage war in the Middle East, as his father and brother did when they were president. Bush's brother, George W. Bush, left office with low approval in part due to his handling of the 2003 invasion of the war in Iraq, and its aftermath.

"I think it's important for the next president, whoever he or she may be, to learn from the lessons of the past and use those lessons to focus on the future," Bush told an audience of more than 300 at Coastal Carolina University in Conway Tuesday.

And THAT lesson still eludes Jeb Bush.

He's the Commander Guy's brother, you see. And he wants a war of his very own. It's HIS turn, dammit.

Jeb Bush disputes notion he is a political 'insider', November 18, 2015

Jeb Bush, whose presidential campaign seems to be struggling in the year of the political "outsider," disputes the notion that he is any kind of a political "insider."

"Thirty-two years in the private sector — eight years as governor," Bush told USA TODAY in an interview Wednesday. "Never worked in Washington, D.C. — never lived in Washington, D.C."

On the campaign trail, however, numerous voters have described Bush as the embodiment of the Republican establishment, an insider who is the son and brother of previous presidents.

.....

....in describing himself as someone who can lead and work with others.

"Someone who doesn't start with the premise that 'it's my way or the highway,'" Bush said.

THAT is guffaw-inducing.

Team Bush Has Little to Show for $20 Million Spent on TV Ads, November 18, 2015

Jeb Bush and his allies have now spent approximately $20 million in TV ads in the 2016 presidential race - more than twice as much as any other candidate or outside group, according to ad-spending data from NBC News partner SMG Delta.

And they have little to show for it, will (sic) poll numbers for Bush currently stuck in the single digits both nationally and in the early states.

The pro-Bush Super PAC, Right to Rise, has spent $19.5 million in TV ads in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, while the campaign has spent an additional $438,000.

Finished.

But he's staying in. Until we come to our senses.

Because he's an entitled Bush. That's how Poppy raised 'em.

He needs some new script writers and needs to stick with them. I'll say it again, I just can't believe the machine would let Trump get the nomination. The racism appeals to a lot of people though in 2015, rather sad.
