Bill Nye speaks on the ways in which we can mitigate climate change.

Bill Nye brought science into kids’ lives and made us laugh. He inspires memes, has his own bow tie line and has appeared on numerous television shows, including, earlier this month, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, National Geographic Channel’s Explorer series. He’s even been a guest on Dancing With the Stars. But under the stardust is a serious scientist who started life as a humble mechanical engineer at Boeing and is now on a mission to combat scientific ignorance and fight against climate change. His new book, Unstoppable: Harnessing Science To Change The World, mixes science and his trademark humor to rally a new “Greatest Generation”—ours—to solve a global climate change crisis that he believes is more threatening to our survival than World War Two.

We’ve already got everything we need, says Nye. We just need to do it."

That has never happened. For example, the theory of evolution is 138 years old now. Sane people use it predict what happens when you cross a Labrador with a Poodle. We don't run around saying 'we can't create hybrids until everyone agrees on evolution.'

Mr Nye, why is action on climate change allegedly held hostage by a small minority?

This false obstacle Nye is embracing also involves people that know the truth but are expecting to profit from climate change or the denial thereof. It isn't a matter of convincing them of the science -- they are paid to say otherwise:

This is why State of Florida banned "climate change" -- a head in the sand defense against lawsuits and restrictions on FEMA funds:

And here is how Forbes is telling people to "profit from climate change":

Nye won't influence politicians but he can influence the general public that grew up on him & trusts him.

Once the public is sold, the conservative politicians will either lose votes or change.

BTW, love Bill Nye. Thanks for posting this.

90% of all work is crap, damaging both earth's natural environment and the human spirit.

Some random family just scraping by and living in a shack in Cairo, Mexico City, or Kolkata does less damage to this earth than you.

You are the problem.

Anyone here can drop off the electric grid any time they like. Walk to your home's main circuit breaker and turn it off. Turn off the gas too. Then quit paying your bills.

Anyone here can abandon their automobile. Walk out to your car and destroy it.

Anyone here can quit their environmentally destructive employment. Call your employer and tell them to take the job and shove it.

I've lived at times in my youth as the odd walking-very-lightly-upon-the-earth homeless person, but not many people listen to an off-their-meds lunatic.

I guess I have to live in "real world" to get anything big done. I hate that.

But my wife and I have avoided the automobile commuter lifestyle since the mid 'eighties, so maybe that counts for something.

That the trap of civilization makes it virtually impossible for even those who wish to escape to do so.

Your facile slur is (almost) beneath contempt.
