Terrorism is basically a gift to right wingers

Just look at how the Republican Party was able to get into full power back in 2002 and send us to war in Iraq. With this last terrorist attack, the Right Wingers in Europe will gain even more ground now. People can't think straight anymore once they don't feel safe. Emotions flood and take over rational thought. Republicans are the party of emotional responses, and that's what the people want when they don't feel safe.

And civil liberties and social reform loses because it gets ignored or put on the back burner.

If you don't believe me, just look at this video of 9/11 when the second plane hit and don't tell me that you wouldn't feel the same if you witnessed this (if you didn't actually see when the second plane hit live.) All it takes is another terrorist attack in America...

Don't tell me you can't see this without getting a flood of emotions.

The greatest impediment to civilization is the psychological weakness of human beings and the ability of human beings to be exploited by those weaknesses by people looking to take advantage.

Republicans say the same thing about Democrats. Both sides use emotion and reason, because both sides are human. Republicans don't use emotion any more or less than Democrats.

Civilization has come at the point of a gun or sharp edge of a sword far more often in human history than not. If it was some objective good, there would've been a lot less violence.
