1. Close the gate.

Frankly, the United States is filled-up.

It is time for other nations to accept some responsibility for refugees. I don't know why the U.S. has to be the safety valve for every dictator and corrupt government in the world.

Furthermore, for me, it has nothing to do with race or religion, it has to do with overpopulation, global warming, carbon footprint, jobs, wages, resources ... etc.

The world and the United States are not the same as they were 100 years ago.

2. While you are entitled to your opinion, I'd really rather it be coupled with facts.

You evidently have no understanding of how many refugees other countries have taken in, especially in proportion to the overall population. How about you educate yourself on that point?

We are one of the least densely populated countries in the world. And moving people from one part of the world to another does not mean a net increase or decrease in any of the things you mentioned.

In fact, I would argue that the birth rate will decrease as the children of immigrants, with access to inexpensive medical care, have the means and opportunity to forestall childbearing.

As far as jobs and population go, with our plummeting birth rate, the US will need to keep it's population steady if we hope to maintain things like social security, GDP, etc. We need a sustainable number of people, just to keep the larger economy afloat.
