as due to the oil glut world wide the Canadian dollar is worth 30% less against the US dollar from six months ago.

Add to that China, which is investing heavily in the Oil Sands and the Northern Gateway project is manipulating the Yuan downward in order to protect it's imports/

The result of Northern Gateway is that we would be giving away our oil resources to China at an 80% discount from a year ago in US dollars.

Trans Canada Pipelines, who want to build the Keystone, are showing 30% less profit from a year ago due low electricity prices in their other operations. So they are clamoring to make money shipping Canadian oil to an already oversupplied US market at fire sale prices.

There is no economic justification for the Northern Gateway but Trudeau has wisely avoided a legal battle by moving to ban oil tankers in Canadian waters.

If he succeeds Canada's oil resources will be protected behind an infrastructure bottle neck. Additionally, Trudeau will have enormous political cover from people on the west coast who do not want this pipeline.

We finally have a Prime Minister with the interests of the Canadian people as his top priority instead of Canadian Oil execs who spend most of their time in Dallas

2. Yoah, they're pissed. They don't need a pipeline if they can't get oil to it.

Turns out they were not ready for Justin. (Except for the 2/3 of the country that pined for real change.)

The price of oil is half what it needs to be to make a profit off of shale oil so they don't need their pipelines anyway. (I'm so glad Trudeau was elected.)
