These 5 Facts Show How Decisions By President George W. Bush Led To ISIS
1. The decision to invade Iraq, which had been contained by the no-fly zone created by the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations and unable to threaten its neighbors or the West, created a power vacuum in the Middle East which had been filled by Saddam Hussein until the invasion in March of 2003.
2. The Bush administration believed it could install Ahmed Chalabi part of the public relations campaign to sell the Iraq War to America as leader of the new government, but he had been outside of the country so long they never accepted him. He was viewed as a western stooge.
3. Almost all of the leaders of ISIS have connections to the former Iraqi government, mostly coming from the military of the Saddam Hussein regime:

4. Paul Bremer, who was the appointed head of Iraq by the Bush administration, passed the de-Baathification law which sent Iraqi army members into the populace, eventually becoming insurgents and terrorists:

(17,199 posts)It's just frustrating watching the mainstream media promote the Republican narrative that what's going on in Iraq and Syria and the tragedy in Paris are the fault of the president; they blame President Obama for ISIS when ISIS was formed in 2004 while Bush was president. If Bush had never invaded Iraq, there would have been no ISIS. The entire destabilization of the region rests on Bush's shoulders. Bush took us to war on a LIE (there were no WMD) and in overthrowing Saddam Hussein, he opened up a Pandora's Box.
So I put together a collection of toons and memes and an article that WE need to disseminate. We have to stop allowing Republicans to define the narrative. I hope the material I posted will be tweeted, posted on Facebook, shared on other message boards, etc.

We have to make it clear: Bush & Cheney are the FOUNDING FATHERS of ISIS and are responsible for the entire cluster**** that is Iraq.

the destabilization in the region that gave rise to ISIS is the result of Bush's invasion of Iraq
