I've never heard anyone describe the man card - enough of that crap already.

(9,463 posts)question, I have no idea what the woman card is. But it seems that card-pulling is always done by someone other than racist/bigoted white men, as if white men are the center of the universe. And it seems it's white men that always seem to be calling out the card players.
Disclaimer: I'm a middle-aged white man.

(33,432 posts)She uses it to get out of tasks she simply does not wish to perform, and will not compromise on. I call it "situational feminism" - there are tasks that both genders can perform, but she does not believe women should have to perform them.
For instance:
Driving ("I don't want to mess up my shoes" was the most recent rationale).
Lifting objects >50 lbs (she's almost 6' tall).
She calls these tasks "Dick Jobs". There are no "women's tasks", BTW.

(6,496 posts)I'm not much of a girly girl. I share a lot of these kinds of tasks with my husband. I mow the lawn and we have a very hilly property. I almost always am the driver because I like driving more than my husband does. I don't know how driving could mess your shoes. It is definitely not a concern of mine. I will lift as heavy as I can, but my husband is at least 4 times stronger than I am so tasks that require an incredible amount of strength fall into his territory unfortunately. Honestly, I have always been envious of men for how much easier it is for them to build and maintain physical strength. I try though.

(90,892 posts)Back when I worked in an office and wore suit-appropriate leather shoes (instead of the sandals and sneakers I now wear all the time), I found that the heel-back of the right shoe became considerably scuffed from contact with the floor mat in my car. The mat attracts sand and gravel, you know. Then I discovered you could buy a little purpose-made pillow to toss down there and rest your heel on while driving. Problem solved.
My sis came to visit and said what the hell is this thing?

(1,587 posts)I've always done work that most would consider "man" work. My daddy didn't believe some things were for girls and some for boys. He treated us all as equals. If the car needed to be fixed, or the pips were frozen and needed to be thawed, or the grass needed to be mown, or whatever, he'd just grab one of us and we'd help him. All four of his girls can do things a lot of women wouldn't even try, and my brothers can clean, cook and take care of a house.
I raised my sons the same way. They can do anything, and don't think any job is beneath them, or only for women.

(30,481 posts)Each woman carrying the woman card it entitled to the following
1: The right to be paid less than your male counterpart for the same work.
2: The right to be brought up in a patriarchal society, non-conformers will be frowned upon.
3: The right to be viewed as an object, not a person.
4: The right to not have any rights with respect to our own bodies.
5: The right to be blamed for being assaulted.
6: The right to be denigrated if one doesn't feel the need to be attached to a man or have children.
7: The right to be discriminated in the workplace beyond that of pay.
8: The right to say the same thing as a man and be mocked for doing so.
9: The right to be represented by a bunch of men in government.
That's just a couple of points on my woman's card.

(24,774 posts)Repig bigots are accusing powerful women of playing the "woman card" as a cheap excuse to belittle women in general and to try to discredit female Presidential candidates.
They're the same ones who play the religious persecution card because they can't legally use their religion to discriminate.
