Political Typology Quiz: Where Do You Fit in?

http://www.people-press.org/quiz/political-typology/

Pew has a political *typology* quiz.
Most folks already know where they
stand in the political spectrum,
but this quiz shows where we stand
in relation to others political self-description.

Solid Liberal here
Generally affluent and highly educated, most Solid Liberals strongly support the social safety net and take very liberal positions on virtually all issues. Most say they always vote Democratic and are unflagging supporters of Barack Obama. Overall, Solid Liberals are very optimistic about the nation’s future and are the most likely to say that America’s success is linked to its ability to change, rather than its reliance on long-standing principles. On foreign policy, Solid Liberals overwhelmingly believe that good diplomacy – rather than military strength – is the best way to ensure peace

Where do you stand?

3. I'll leave that to someone else, if you don't mind.

The examples given were so obvious. It would have been more interesting with some shades of gray, IMO.

4. Those questions are way to "leading" You know from reading them how to answer to make any outcome

you want.

I think that being ideology driven is why the right is so fucked up. The same can be said about the left if we adopt ideology whether or not it is the best choice for a situation. I guess I am saying I am leaning toward situation ethics. Also labels do little to solve real world problems.

for the same reason you stated above. They may as well have just asked, "Do you agree with the GOP or the Democratic talking point on issue X?"

Are we to pretend we believe she thinks differently? In other words we should just vote contrary to how we believe she would vote. That makes no sense.

Those questions are open to wide interpretation. For example, you can believe we are better off being active in world affairs while at the same time thinking we shouldn't get involved in every overseas conflict that comes down the pike.

15. You think PEW doesn't understand political demographics?

Just because you see nuance
or shades of gray doesn't discount
the fact that many people don't.

Many people are pro military
and against diplomacy.

Many think that regulations hurt
business and are not worth the expense.

Many people in fact do think in either/or terms.

The quiz may be oversimplified,
yet many do think in exactly those terms.

But note that this category fits only 15% of the population - there's the GE dilemma in a nutshell!

There were several questions where I chose the more conservative answer, but my opinion was actually between the two extremes.
