Veteran's Day: A day to display flags and GOP hypocrisy
Many people put out flags on Veteran's Day and there's nothing wrong with it. My bitch is that most of those in my neighborhood who display (large) flags are Republicans. They've somehow missed the fact that the Republican Party loves soldiers and hates giving benefits to vets.
"Thank you for your service," has become the main benefit that veteran's receive. Funding for medical and psychological care are items that the Republican congress's couldn't care less about.
"YOU ARE CANNON FODDER!" should be the motto of the Republican Party. They're anxious to send soldiers off to fight. But when they come home, fuck em.
It all comes down to budget priorities. And taking care of veterans in need is not a priority to the GOP congressional hypocrites who put together the budgets.
