No reports of zombies: Sheriffs office finds casket along roadway
A sheriffs office in central Wisconsin has a question for you: Anyone missing a casket?
The Adams County Sheriffs Office took to Facebook to post a photo of a casket found along a highway last weekend.
Were pretty certain it did not come out of the ground, and there have been no reports of zombies in the area, the post reads.
The Sheriffs Office spoke with a funeral home and discovered used caskets can be sold to private citizens for haunted houses and displays.

(34,136 posts)If the casket to be burned is cheap, some funeral homes will rent upscale caskets for the viewings. So a body can be "shown off" in an expensive, fancy casket but burned in a cardboard box. My reaction is "EWWWWWWWW!"

(12,157 posts)My aunt has an adult trike that I'm thinking of retrofitting to do roadside trash collection. I could pay for the gas for a trip to town on the Bud Lite cans alone.
But I have never seen a coffin on the side of the road. That's a new one.

(51,129 posts)and only noticed when he got back to the funeral home where he worked during college. He had to retrace his route and found it along a freeway ramp. At least so goes family legend. I wasn't there and the other guy who was isn't talking.

(269,144 posts)I was driving along my usual route to work a few years ago and at one of the intersections, there was a hearse in an accident blocking the road. When I asked what had happened a man told me that they just killed a dead woman. Apparently her body was being taken to the funeral home when another car hit the hearse. I never forgot his description of what happened.
