Mizzou PD increases security following Yik Yak threats

One post on anonymous social media app Yik Yak resulted in MU students being concerned for their safety and an increased police presence on campus.

“Some of you are alright,” the first yak said. “Don’t go to campus tomorrow.”

Students immediately starting posting screenshots of the yak on social media.

. . .

Residential Life Director Frankie Minor stood up and announced the threats during an MU student government joint session earlier today, then left. Shortly after, members of joint session voted to adjourn and were escorted from Tate Hall by MUPD.

Residence Halls Association Advisor Lucas Gorham said that the police escort was precautionary.

There are all sorts of videos and images circulating on Twitter. Professors canceling classes tomorrow, veteran students asked not to wear their uniforms around campus this week, police throughout the campus to monitor things....

I really feel for the parents and students at Mizzou.
