The week-long commemoration of the end of the Civil War takes place .. every summer.
Channel 9’s partners at the Hickory Daily Record report African-American community leaders want organizers to ban the flags. The city said they can't do anything about it since they don't run the parade.
The issue is not on Tuesday night's City Council agenda but people from both sides are expected to talk about it during the public comment time ...
