In case one wonders why it is getting harder to survive on decreasing incomes, and as we watch more people slide toward poverty or to spend the rest of their lives as part of the "working poor", I think it is nice to take a few moments to think of the people who purchased our elected officials.

(3,814 posts)That's a good thing, in my view. I don't care for the lobbying system, but it's what we have, and how lawmakers are influenced.

(5,279 posts)"Civil service/public officials"...are those actually political think tanks? ALEC members who served in an elected office at some point in their lives?
I did notice they broke the vested interests in fighting single payer into separate groups to imply a non-coordinated efforts.

Try Carlye Group,Neil Bush Marvin Bush Dan Quayle,as well as the Pearson Group(private education with their US offices in Bloomington,Mn. and Corporate offices in London). You know damn well these folks do not want to see the any type of default on Student Debt. Wow,.how far we have regressed.
