Idiot escaped inmate recaptured after Facebook posts

Perhaps there should be a new Darwin category for those that manage not to kill themselves...

PAYETTE, Idaho -- An escaped inmate, on the run more than a year after he scaled over a razor wire fence at an Idaho jail, was taken back into custody on Friday.

Police and U.S. Marshals said Nicholas Grove's social media posts helped lead to his re-capture, KBOI reported. His Facebook posts included selfie photos of where he was staying and references to Cancun, Mexico.

"I've had more help from total strangers than any of my 'friends' or family,'" Grove wrote on Facebook following his escape.

Almost every day there's a story in the paper about cops stopping a car with expired registration or broken headlights and discovering hundreds of bags of heroin inside. Keep in mind the drug dealers are traveling on a section of the Interstate highway in Massachusetts and Vermont that is currently known as the "Heroin Highway." It's unusual not to see cops in the turnarounds.

Yet people speed or draw attention to themselves some way while carrying a trunk load of you-name-it, bound for Chicago.
