And it really isn't a bad thing. The football players who threatened not to play should be commended. They brought this issue on the campus to the forefront when it is likely that many people were not aware that this racism on campus was happening. Good for the players and all others who participated and brought about change.
Watch for fox noise to condemn the University of Missouri football program. Real soon.

It would call attention to the fact that college football is a giant plantation.
Football players have power only because of what their labor produces which turns out to be good for a privileged few mostly white people.

How often does their labor result in social and economic power that benefits them and their families when they are no longer laborers?

I'm very glad the athletes realized the act of choosing to withhold their labor had the capacity to flip that lever.

Given the current world-view of the majority of admins and profs on college campuses, it's very easy to intimidate them, so why not do it? So expect more on any number or issues, legitimate or not.

This resignation will not solve the deeper issue of racism on campuses. Its a superficial victory at best.

No way was the university gonna take a million-dollar hit from a cancelled football game.
