Of course, that would be the same with a vast majority of the GOP, which is a real problem that nearly everybody is ignoring.

GOP == Christian theocracy.

We let these people into power at our collective peril. Unfortunately we have done almost precisely that.

The theocrats currently have majorities in:

* state legislatures
* governorships
* US House of Representatives
* US Senate
* a hair's breadth on the US Supreme Court

Meanwhile foolish people here on DU are infighting over Democratic presidential primary candidates when we should be uniting over the utter madness that has become the GOP.

If one wants to change the Democratic Party one has to do it exactly like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson did it for the GOP beginning in the late 70's. One has to do it by running like-minded people at the precinct level. It has never ever happened from the White House down. That is a lesson Falwell and Robertson learned decades ago that the infighting children here on DU have not.

If you want to make a difference, get involved in your local party. That is how one steers a big ship away from an iceberg of GOP national dominance. And in case anybody hasn't noticed, the presidency is not much use without legislative and state support.

We are one presidential election loss from utter mayhem. It very well may happen in 2016 if we keep on this path.

So, by all means, keep the infighting going. (At our collective peril!)

edit to ask: As one of your fans, when do you get out of probation? I don't see much of you lately and with 4 hides I can understand. Stay around and stay strong.

IMO, he's a bona fide kook who would launch nukes when his imaginary friend told him to.
