That new german right-wing party, the "AfD", does not react well to humor.

The "AfD" ("Alternative for Germany&quot was only recently founded. It began as a small party with the main topic of EU-skepticism. From there, it switched over to more nationalistic topics.
The AfD is currently polling at 9%.

Mainstream-parties and media attack the AfD for being right-wingers and giving Neo-Nazi politics a stepping-stone back into society. Out of pure coincidence, the AfD seems to draw the same kind of followers as the anti-immigrant "Pegida"-movement (Patriotic Europeans against the islamization of the occident&quot . The Pegida-movement in turn is famous for their hostility for the mainstream-media (they only trust what they read in their own online-echochambers), coopting the term "Lügenpresse" ("lying press&quot , which saw widespread use the last time in Nazi-propaganda to badmouth journalists and newspapers they didn't like.

-------------------------------------------------

The "heute-show" is a (fairly blatant) german rip-off of the "Daily Show" on the ZDF, the second-largest publicly-owned TV-channel in Germany. Carnival-season starts soon, so they sent one of their "correspondents" dressed as a clown to cover an AfD-demonstration as if it were a carnival-parade.

It didn't end well. As soon as he had uttered to the camera that this is a carnival-parade, he was attacked by demonstrators. The clip starts after they have already ripped off his wig.

A demonstration-orderly keeps the crowd away from the comedian, another demonstrator tries to help as well by repeating "No violence!" The crowd is outraged about the way their demonstration is covered, they chant "Lügenpresse" and claim that this part of the mainstream propaganda-campaign to ridicule them.

"The ZDF calls us a carnivals-parade!"

They somehow fail to recognize that this is just a comedy-skit, not actual news.
The Youtube-commenters on this video-clip also bash and deride the ZDF, fully knowing but not caring that this guy is just a comedian working for a comedy-show.
He's not a journalist and this clip would never have shown up in an actual ZDF-newscast.
This is not a propaganda-video at the behest of some powers-that-be.
This. Is. A. Comedy-skit.

"heute-show"-correspondents have sneaked into actual political party-conventions with ZDF-press-credentials and asked ridiculous questions to actual politicians. And the politicians played along without missing a beat, immediately recognizing what kind of "journalist" they are talking to.
But as soon as they cover people who believe that the mainstream-media always lies and is out to get them...

Imagine, just imagine, the "Daily Show" sending a correspondent to a demonstration or convention of rabid right-wingers. Let's say, sporting a name-tag with fake CNN- or NBC-press-credentials. And then he covers them in some ridiculing way. You think he would make it out okay?
